Damage to the palm of the hand with papillomas

In this article, we cover the following:

  • What is a papilloma;
  • What is the reason for their formation.
  • where they are more common in men and women;
  • Typical papilloma.

Papillomas are benign neoplasms localized on the skin, mucous membranes. The cause of their occurrence is human papillomavirus (HPV), which is transmitted in different ways. The appearance of the growths depends on the type of virus that caused them.

Transmission paths

Human papillomavirus is transmitted by:

  • During sexual intercourse, including anal, genitals.
  • Household. The microorganism can be present on personal items, personal hygiene items, infected towels. It easily penetrates scratches, abrasions on the skin.
  • during childbirth from the mother.

Autoinfection is possible if the virus is transmitted from one part of the body to another, usually during shaving or hair removal.

The incubation period (the period from which HPV enters the body before the onset of signs of pathology) varies from a few weeks to several years.

Papillomas on the body are most often manifested during illness, pregnancy, alcohol abuse, psycho-emotional stress, hypothermia, accompanied by a decrease in immune defenses. The incidence of these formations is the same in women and men.

Human Papillomavirus: Types

Mucosal papillomaviruses belong to the following groups due to the risk of developing oncological pathology on the skin:

  • Low oncogenic risk (HPV 3, 6, 11, 13, 32, 34, 72, 73, 40–44, 51, 61).
  • Moderate oncogenic risk (HPV types 52, 56, 58, 30, 35, 45).
  • High risk of developing malignant processes (HPV 50, 59, 16, 18, 64, 68, 70, 31, 33, 39).

Low-risk cancer microorganisms cause benign growths on the skin, mucous membranes.

Types of papillomas

Simple

Simple papilloma

They are also called vulgar, ordinary. Such an increase is more often caused by HPV types 26-29, 77, 63, 41.

Stretching of the body, burning sensation occurs in any part of the body. Later, there is an increase in the spherical formation, the surface of which gradually becomes rough. At first, the tumor is flesh-colored, and then darkens. The size of the papilloma on the body is from 1 mm to cm

These neoplasms are single, multiple. In the latter case, the daughter small papillomas are located around the mothers, forming primarily the largest.

Their localization is the back of the hands, fingers, including the spaces between them, the chin area, the edges of the lips. There is such a papilloma on the neck. Affected baby knees as children often crawl, get infected with minor skin lesions.

Plantar

People with these growths become infected with HPV types 1, 2, 4. The growth is beautifully similar to dry callus, but has many characteristic differences.

The skin pattern is preserved on the callus, there are no papillomas on the surface, the latter being smooth. The formation caused by the papillomavirus is painful, the unpleasant sensations intensifying when wearing a begging shoe. Inside the papilloma, black dots are observed that are not present in the calluses.

Sometimes neoplasms are self-destructing, which is more common in children. Sometimes small blisters are seen around the neoplasm. The latter becomes new papillomas over time.

Flat papilloma on the face

Flat papillomas

Rounded, elongated, oval-shaped growth, growing 1-2 mm above skin level. Flat papillomas are localized in the mouth, face and upper half of the body. Sometimes a papilloma forms on the neck.

There are papilloma data on latia, in girls cervix, in men penis, in intestine, near anus. These formations are arranged in groups, merging with each other. Flesh-colored papilloma, sometimes slightly darker than the rest of the skin, develops under the influence of 10, 49, 28 species of papillomavirus.

screw

If people notice that small papillomas have appeared on the neck, then most often the growths are threaded. The second name of the formation isacrochordus. The latter is caused by 2, 7 types of HPV.

Initially, papillomas on the neck resemble small yellowish shoulders, and then the cultivation is stretched, becomes rough, acquires an elongated, round, fibrous shape. A distinctive feature of a similar papilloma on the neck is a thin leg.

Most often, the acrochord occurs in men, in women over 40 years of age. Growth is also observed on the skin of the upper eyelids, arms, breasts, in the intimate area.

Papilloma on the penis

Formation data are calledwarts,is caused by 6, 11, 44, 42, 54, 51, 55, 89 types of human papillomavirus in women and men.

Condyloma is a small, single, multiple rash of flesh color, localized around the female, male genitals, around the anus. In the vagina there is papilloma, labia minora, cervix. In men, the wart is located on the head of the penis, inside the urethra.

The individual elements are sometimes combined with each other, forming a tumor-like formation that looks like a stomach comb, cauliflower. Neoplasms are characterized by very rapid growth, extensive damage can form in a few hours.

Pathology has a recurrent course. It is more severe with concomitant infections of the urogenital tract (eg, chlamydia, gonorrhea, mycoplasmosis).

Condyloma, which is attached to the cervix, especially inside the cervical canal, is the most dangerous during pregnancy. Hormonal changes stimulate rapid growth, followed by tissue breakdown and secondary infections.

Papillomat in the oral cavity, larynx

Their appearance is related to types 6, 7, 11, 72, 73, 57, 32 of papillomavirus. Formations are rounded formations with a thin or wide base. The mucous membrane around them is light pink, with no visible pathological changes. Growth surfaces are light pink, whitish.

Neoplasms are single, multiple, painless when pressed. They are located at the bottom of the mouth, on the back of the tongue, on the hard, soft palate, the mucous membrane of the larynx, the size varies from 2 mm to 2 cm.

Papilloma in the laryngeal cavity

Excess of the oral mucosa, if bitten, darkens as a result of blood leaking into it. The state of health does not deteriorate in the presence of such a disease, the oral cavity opens freely.

When a single growth in adults is located on the soft palate, limbs, glutes, there is a feeling of foreign bodies, coughing, hoarseness occurs. If the injury occurs multiple times, these symptoms will worsen.

In children, abnormal growth is often bilateral, with the development of the following symptoms:

  • Difficulty inhaling, exhaling, resulting from physical exercise, then at complete rest.
  • Cough after running, too many games.
  • Attacks caused by
  • mucosal <> stenosis (abnormal narrowing that prevents air from entering the lower respiratory tract).
The appearance of different papillomas is associated with different types of HPV. To get rid of neoplasms, you should consult a doctor. This should be done as soon as possible if the papilloma is multiple, increases in size rapidly, causes discomfort, and is constantly traumatized.
